Endrick highlights Ronaldo-like discipline as he eyes World Cup and Mourinho era
Endrick says the military-like discipline and sacrifices that have shaped his career draw a clear parallel with his idol Cristiano Ronaldo. Focused on the 2026 World Cup, the 19-year-old wants to use the tournament to strengthen his case for a long-term role at Real Madrid under new boss Jose Mourinho.
"Wanting to work hard, from an early age, is something I have in common with Cristiano Ronaldo, but I don’t admire him just for his work ethic," he told GQ Brazil. The forward left Madrid on loan for Lyon to regain match sharpness after a lengthy layoff. He spent 173 days sidelined with a right-leg injury in 2025 and struggled for opportunities on his return, so he sought regular playing time in France.
"She asked me what I wanted. And she kept putting that into my head, and I started thinking about the importance of standing on my own two feet and making it happen," Endrick said of his wife, Gabriely Miranda.
