Revealed: Elliot Anderson to earn around £300,000 a week at Man City
Manchester City have agreed a British record transfer for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, paying a fixed fee of £116 million with no add-ons. The move replaces City’s previous club record of £100m for Jack Grealish and makes Anderson the most expensive British player in football history.
Anderson is set to sign a five-year contract at the Etihad, with a salary near £300,000 per week if performance-related bonuses are met. The deal includes a club option to extend for a further 12 months, effectively tying him to the champions until 2032. Forest had earlier rejected a £106m bid and bought Anderson from Newcastle for £35m in 2023, yielding a significant profit for the East Midlands club.
While with England, Anderson has started both group games against Croatia and Ghana and will undergo a medical in New York during World Cup duty. The signing forms part of a wider midfield rebuild as City prepare for life after Pep Guardiola, following Bernardo Silva’s move to Real Madrid.
