Elektra return adds uncertainty to Daredevil: Born Again Season 3

Daredevil: Born Again continues the Netflix series rather than rebooting it, and keeping that continuity has let the Disney+ show build on established emotional and narrative threads. Returning cast members have become one of the series’ strongest elements, and Finn Jones' confirmed comeback as Danny "Iron Fist" Rand shaped early expectations for Season 3.

The recent announcement that Elodie Yung will reprise Elektra introduces fresh uncertainty about the season's direction. There are comic-book precedents for multiple outcomes while Matt Murdock is jailed. 2006's "Devil in Cell Block D" has Iron Fist don the suit and masquerade as Daredevil.

By contrast, 2019's "Know Fear" shows Matt acting as Daredevil from prison—with his masked identity protected—and Elektra taking up his duties on the outside. With both characters returning, either scenario, or neither, is now plausible for Season 3.
