Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, which ran poorly for some players at last year’s Gamescom and prompted publisher restrictions on footage, has a Switch 2 release date after a delay for polish. FromSoftware and Bandai Namco say the port will arrive on August 28, 2026, roughly 14 months after the Switch 2’s launch last year.

Rebekah Valentine got hands-on time with a more recent build at this year’s Game Developers Conference in March and described the port as “extremely fine” and that it “did not run like shit.” The Tarnished Edition will include the base game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, along with some cosmetics that haven’t appeared on other platforms yet; those items will eventually come to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

The Switch 2 is still receiving older ports a year into its run, and overall they have largely held up, though a few launches needed post-release fixes.
