Eddie Huang is debuting a novel, Come Undone, and is writing the screen adaptation to be produced by Jonathan Levine. He also reopened the restaurant that made him famous, Baohaus, in New York this year and moved back to the city in early 2024. Come Undone is described as a semi-autobiographical romantic comedy about a food show host who limits relationships to three months until he meets Anastasia, a character based on his wife, Natashia Blanca.

Huang originally pitched a different story about a sushi chef who aspired to be an MMA fighter, but abandoned that idea and now argues his book fits the rom-com genre alongside films such as Anora, Pretty Woman, High Fidelity, Annie Hall and Good Will Hunting. Huang lived in Los Angeles starting in 2019 for five years and tried neighborhoods from Malibu to Bel-Air, saying he regrets leaving Mid-City.

When he visits LA now he posts up at the Sunset Tower, schedules back-to-back meetings, squeezes in a hike and eats as much Korean and Persian food as he can.
