Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson’s first-ever fragrance line
Dwayne Johnson has expanded his Papatui brand with a new line of colognes advertised as “luxury without the luxury markup.” He worked with perfumers Frank Voelkl — the nose behind Le Labo’s Santal 33 — and Jérôme Epinettehe, and the three scents are priced at $40 a bottle.
The fragrances were developed over two years and more than 170 prototypes. Johnson said, “I wanted to create something that was high-end and luxury without feeling out of reach,” adding, “The right fragrance changes your energy the second you put it on. We obsessed over every detail to make sure they smell incredible, last and will become part of how my guys show up every day.” The lineup includes P-01, a leather-like, woodsy blend with bergamot, cardamom and crisp apple described as “champion confidence, bottled”; P-21, a bourbon-esque scent with ripe berry, vanilla absolute and birch; and P-07, an amber option with bergamot, patchouli and vetiver.
The bottles are styled to look premium, and the scents are marketed as essentially unisex.
