Dwayne Johnson reveals 'really painful' cancer scare
Dwayne Johnson said he recently experienced a cancer scare he kept from everyone, including his wife, Lauren Hashian. In a new interview with Esquire, the 54-year-old actor said he felt a lump on his testicles while showering that "hurt when he touched it." He saw a doctor three days later, who said it was likely epididymitis but warned it could be cancer and ordered an urgent ultrasound; the appointment had to wait because he was booked all day promoting his next "Jumanji" movie.
He had to live with the uncertainty for 24 hours, doing appearances and speeches while keeping the news from Hashian. "I didn't want to worry her before I knew if it was anything to even worry about," he said. He has been married to Hashian since 2019; they share daughters Jasmine, 10, and Tiana, 8, and Johnson is also father to Simone, 24, from his previous marriage to Dany Garcia.
Johnson said the episode was "really painful" but confirmed he is "fine" now.
