Paramount+ renews Dutton Ranch for Season 2; show expected to run for years
Paramount+ has renewed Taylor Sheridan’s Dutton Ranch for a second season while two episodes of the nine-episode first season remain. The series, which premiered on May 15, 2026, returns to the neo-western formula associated with Yellowstone and follows Beth and Rip as they build a new ranch in Texas, raise their adopted son Carter, and try to heal from the tragedy that drove them from Montana.
Season 1 began production in August 2025 and took nine months to complete. If Season 2 began production immediately after the first season concludes on July 3, 2026, it could potentially air as early as April 2027, though a start a few weeks or months later is more likely; overall the show is expected to remain on the air for at least another year or two and likely return before 2028.
Showrunner Chad Feehan exited the series in April 2026 after reported clashes with the cast and executive producers, leaving the show without a announced replacement as Season 1 winds down.
