Dutton Ranch Episode 7 Reveals Beulah’s Secret and Mariano’s Rise

Episode 7 of Dutton Ranch, titled "Den of Sin," flashes back to 1981 and rewrites Beulah Jackson’s past. A younger Beulah, played by Rebeca Robles, is assaulted by Luke, a mechanic she meets in Fort Worth; she later discovers she is pregnant, confronts Luke at his trailer and kills him.

Luke is revealed to be the father of Rob-Will Jackson, contradicting Beulah’s previous claim that his father died in a flood. The episode also traces a long history between Beulah and a younger Mariano Reyes. In 1981 Mariano serves as the 10-Petal’s top hand, watches over Beulah, helps protect her after the assault, supports her cover story to her father and drives her to Luke’s trailer without knowing her intent.

That backstory casts Mariano’s present-day behavior in a different light: when he called Beulah earlier in the season he was no longer acting like a loyal ranch hand but was making demands, suggesting a shifted power dynamic.
