Dutton Ranch Episode 5 Kills Off Beloved Character
Dutton Ranch has been breaking streaming records at Paramount+ and has stepped into Yellowstone's shoes. After Beth, Rip and Carter are forced off their new ranch by a wildfire, they decamp to a cattle spread in South Texas and quickly find themselves the underdogs against the 10 Petal Ranch matriarch, Beulah Jackson, and her fixer, Joaquin.
Episode 5 delivers a different brand of surprises. Carter takes Beulah’s daughter, Oreana, to visit Dwight — whose ranch features a jaguar and an endless supply of beer — and while helping with chores law enforcement suddenly rushes the property. Dwight runs and is chased down; the police shoot him in the back.
Carter witnesses the killing but is told he must swear to stay silent or face jail. Dwight had been one of the more likable figures on the show, seemingly privy to the town’s secrets.
