Funcom revealed during the June 2026 PlayStation State of Play that Dune: Awakening will arrive on September 22 for PS5 and Xbox Series X, and that a single-player mode will launch alongside the console release for Windows PC. The console version collects all updates the studio has added since the game's original summer 2025 launch, including expanded storage, improved ways to recover vehicles if you become separated from them, and changes to how you store and back up your base.

Fixes have removed bugs that plagued the launch, so no more getting stranded naked and alone if a worm eats you. It will also include larger additions that appeared on PC over the months, such as new story chapters and specializations, additional maps, and combat zones with customization options.

Those combat zones and the gear earned from them serve as the game's endgame — something it lacked at launch. Funcom has released DLC packs between launch and now that mainly added cosmetics like color swatches for outfits and vehicle variations.
