Ducky's Year of the Horse keyboard is a bold, limited-edition design
At Computex, Jacob got a look at Ducky's Year of the Horse keyboard: a black 100-key board with a large red horse motif layered in gold, red and orange — and, as the write-up put it, with 30% more fire.
The keycaps appear to have no lettering, which gives the design room to be more decorative, and there are light accents in the top corners that catch the show-floor lighting. This edition is limited to 999 units and no price has been announced; last year’s model sold for around the $200 mark and was limited to 2025 units.
Ducky’s Chinese Zodiac series leans ornamental, with past releases including the Year of the Snake in reds and pinks, the 2020 Year of the Rat with a cartoon sewer vibe, and a mostly pink Year of the Pig. Compared with Ducky’s 2014 horse — a simple white base with black keys and a small horse on the space bar highlighted by shinethrough RGB — the new design feels bolder and more striking.
