PC players can now get native DualSense audio and haptics through the DSX v3.2 Beta 01 update, which adds a "Virtual DualSense with Audio" feature that works over Bluetooth or USB. Historically using a DualSense on PC meant a wired connection or a fiddly Bluetooth adapter, and there has been no official support for the controller’s detailed haptics.

The update makes clear that haptic and controller-based audio support requires DSX+ to create the virtual DualSense. In practice that means buying the base DSX software on Steam for $7.99 and the DSX+ add-on for $3.99 — effectively more than $10 for functionality that is standard on PS5, though the small team behind the tool also needs to be paid.

DSX now lets you launch the controller software manually outside Steam, but it uses a 28-day ownership cache, so you’ll still need to touch Steam at least once a month. You’ll also need to opt into the DSX Beta branch on Steam to use the haptics features.
