Autonomous ErgoChair Ultra 2 review: a mesh chair I actually like
The Autonomous ErgoChair Ultra 2 is a well-built office chair that works for a full day of work and an evening of gaming. Its polymer ‘spine’ and flexible mesh back mould to the sitter, providing solid support without fiddly dials or levers, and the absence of a metal frame keeps the chair relatively light and easy to move.
The seat combines a foam pad with an array of polymer “springs,” producing a spacious but not especially plush perch—an extra few centimetres of padding would improve comfort. Seat depth adjusts via a handle to give taller users more thigh support, though the sliding mechanism produces a small clunk when you shift, which slightly reduces the feeling of sturdiness.
Four-dimensional armrests cover height, lateral and rotational adjustments, but the lateral and rotational parts slide too easily on carpet, so they can move out of position when you use the arms to push the chair; the height adjustment, by contrast, can be stiff.
