Dragon's Dogma 2's controversial microtransactions are going away
Dragon's Dogma 2 launched in 2024 to critical praise, but players criticized its paid in-game items for clashing with the game’s design. More than two years later, Capcom will remove those controversial microtransactions from digital storefronts. The change arrives ahead of the Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion.
Capcom said it will discontinue the Deluxe Edition and certain DLC items, which will be pulled on June 24 at 5 p.m. PDT. The items being removed include single-use conveniences like new fast-travel locations, appearance-change tools and combat revives, as well as bundles of Rift Crystals used to summon high-level pawns and buy items from pawn guilds.
