Capcom’s latest Spotlight touched on several upcoming titles, but the biggest news concerned Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. Kento Kinoshita is returning as director; he helmed the original Dark Arisen expansion and is taking the lead after Hideaki Itsuno’s departure from Capcom in August 2024.

Alongside the expansion’s announcement trailer, Capcom showed changes coming to the base game when Dark Arisen launches on October 9, 2026: new hairstyles and tattoos for the character creator and “12 unique dungeons” added to the original map, not all content confined to the new region of Norgan.

The Relic system from the first Dark Arisen will return in Norgan, with armor and weapon relics found in the region and as enemy rewards; once appraised, relics can feature “special effects” and “unique skills.” The Fallen Dragon sits at the heart of the expansion, and a mysterious woman named Eir has been pursuing it.
