Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen DLC arrives, one-save file complicates access
Nintendo Direct revealed Dark Arisen, a full expansion for Dragon’s Dogma 2. The add-on borrows its name from the original game’s praised expansion and introduces a northern region called Norgan, along with new characters, dungeons, weapons and skills. Dragon’s Dogma 2 only allows a single save file, letting players continue from their last save or the last inn they slept at with no rollback.
There’s a very significant point of no return near the end of the game that, if passed to reach the true ending, leaves players unable to return to the original world state except by starting a new game. Capcom plans to ease that friction with New Game+, which restores your endgame level, pawns and vocation abilities, but progress still requires time.
Fast travel is limited to portcrystals that consume ferrystones and do not carry over into a new save, so reaching the new content may mean replaying quests and traversing the map.
