Dr. Wanda Peters

Dr. Wanda Peters has more than 35 years of scientific, engineering and programmatic experience, including about 25 years in leadership roles. She is a member of the Senior Executive Service and serves as Deputy Associate Administrator for Programs in the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters, overseeing SMD’s multi-billion dollar portfolio of more than 100 missions.

She previously served as Deputy Director for Planning and Business Management in the Flight Projects Directorate at NASA Goddard, where she led strategic planning, policy development, personnel management and programmatic oversight for a portfolio of roughly 80 missions.

Before joining NASA she was a research scientist at the Naval Research Laboratory and began her NASA career in January 1990 as a support contractor, converting to government service in 2005.
