Geralt actor Doug Cockle knew little about Songs of the Past DLC
Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt in The Witcher games, is set to return for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s newly announced DLC, Songs of the Past. He says he knows as much as the public about the expansion and has no extra details to share. Cockle recalled there was a feeling CD Projekt Red might be “cooking something up,” though he didn’t expect its form — for all he knew it could have been another Thronebreaker-style project.
The expansion had been rumored for some time, and its reveal felt more like a formality; he was “absolutely thrilled” to learn it will act as a bridge between The Witcher 3 and its DLCs and The Witcher 4. CDPR co‑CEO Michał Nowakowski has described Songs of the Past as “in a way, a prologue” to The Witcher 4.
When asked if he’d recorded for Songs of the Past, Cockle gave a cheeky reply: “I haven't, but I wouldn't tell you if I had.” He also hasn’t recorded for the planned remake of the 2007 game and doesn’t know whether he’ll reprise Geralt in Fool’s Theory’s project.
