Dortmund remain in hunt for Kennet Eichhorn as clause nears expiry

Borussia Dortmund remain actively involved in the chase for Hertha youngster Kennet Eichhorn, even as recent coverage has focused on a duel between RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen. The 16-year-old’s release clause is only valid until 15 June, and a move abroad is no longer being considered at this stage.

Head coach Niko Kovac is a strong advocate of signing Eichhorn, and club management believes he already has the potential to make an immediate impact rather than requiring several years of development.
