Don't Starve Together has reached a new all-time concurrent player peak on Steam, with SteamDB logging the surge.

The last similar jump happened in 2023, when a steep discount pushed the game from around 50,000 players to about 100,000. A comparable discount is in play now—the game is available for less than $2—and it peaked earlier today at 122,662 concurrent players.

Player numbers have since eased to roughly 68,000, still notable for a title that originally released in 2016. Its hand-drawn art style has helped it age well, and the game hasn't visibly aged a day.

Don't Starve leans into survival over open creative sandboxing, asking players to stave off hunger, monsters and insanity to extend their best runs. The original solo-only Don't Starve has only a few thousand players on Steam right now, and the series' move to multiplayer has proved a big hit, with the upcoming Don't Starve Elsewhere also focusing on co-op.
