Donald Duck has extra fingers in Kingdom Hearts Collection art

Square Enix’s newly announced Kingdom Hearts Collection (1–3), revealed during the Nintendo Direct showcase, features official artwork that fans have noticed looks off: Donald Duck appears to have a mismatched number of fingers.

In some images he shows three fingers on his right hand and four on his left, with a thumb on each — a detail visible on art shared by the official Kingdom Hearts account on X and on Square Enix’s website. A few press shots hide the hand, but the inconsistency is present in multiple official pieces; observers also pointed out a beak that seems to blend into itself and an oddly rendered hand on Sora.

Community members highlighted other background oddities and suggested these kinds of errors can indicate generative AI was used in creating the images. Square Enix has listed the collection on the Microsoft Store but not Steam, which requires AI disclosure; the writer has contacted Square Enix about possible AI use and said they will update with any response.
