Disney Debuts First Footage of Ryan Gosling's Star Wars: Starfighter

After years focused on Disney+ series, Lucasfilm has pivoted back to the big screen with Star Wars: Starfighter, a standalone adventure starring Ryan Gosling. The film centers on new characters and is scheduled to open in theaters on May 28, 2027, leaving fans awaiting an official public teaser.

Disney quietly debuted the first footage this week, privately screening an exclusive preview during its CineEurope presentation in Barcelona. The closed-door showing highlighted the studio's new premium large-screen format, Infinity Vision, which debuts in September as an alternative to IMAX and will roll out with Avengers: Endgame Encore ahead of other tentpoles.

The first look was presented alongside sneak peeks from the studio's upcoming slate, including Avengers: Doomsday, Gatto, Hexed, Ice Age: Boiling Point, The Dog Stars, Whalefall and the live-action Moana. Because the event was confidential, no descriptions of the footage have leaked.
