Disclosure Day is a 'sort of trio' with Close Encounters and E.T., says star

Directed by Steven Spielberg and centred on extraterrestrial life, Disclosure Day has been cast by star Josh O'Connor as, in his words, "the third in a sort of trio: Close Encounters, E.T., and this." O'Connor added that War of the Worlds also figures in Spielberg's thinking about the film.

Screenwriter David Koepp has pushed back on online speculation that Disclosure Day is part of some deep-state plan to reveal aliens. The movie is based on a story by Spielberg, who wrote Close Encounters of the Third Kind and played a key role in the inception of E.T., a link that helps explain the thematic connection among the films.
