Disclosure Day ending: the alien whisper and sequel chances

The film ends with Margaret and Daniel broadcasting archival footage that proves a long-running coverup: craft in flight, charred alien bodies, and confirmed crashes such as Kecksburg. An infirm alien, presumably In Vivo 17, is revealed in the studio and whispers an 8‑bit binary message into Daniel Kellner’s ear; he smiles, translates for Margaret, who begins to address the world, and the movie cuts to credits before we hear the content.

The whisper itself is left intentionally unknowable. The movie gives clues — the aliens prize empathy and fear of panic is a concern, Daniel previously relayed Margaret’s involuntary line “Don’t be afraid of what you don’t know” — so the most likely reading is a message of peace intended to avert the global tensions onscreen.

Actor Josh O’Connor says he knows the whispered words but will not reveal them. Why the aliens chose Margaret and Daniel is never fully explained.
