Differences emerge between Harry Kane and Bayern over extension terms
Harry Kane’s future at Bayern Munich has been cast into sudden doubt after contract extension talks stalled. Kicker noted there are "differences regarding the conditions and the term of the new contract" between the striker and the club hierarchy, and financially powerful clubs across Europe are monitoring the situation in case talks break down; failure to sign before the World Cup would leave Bayern having to consider offers.
Despite the uncertainty, Bayern currently hold the upper hand: Kane opted not to trigger a winter exit clause in his agreement. Still, "first interest already deposited with his management" has increased pressure on the Munich board to resolve the differences before a rival makes an offer that is too lucrative to ignore.
Last season Kane was directly involved in 68 goals across 51 appearances, scoring 61 times and providing seven assists, as he helped Bayern secure the domestic double and reach the Champions League semi-finals before elimination by Paris Saint-Germain.
