Diablo 4 Season of Death Awakening begins June 30 with Warlock free trial

Diablo 4's Age of Hatred story arc has closed with the Lord of Hatred DLC, and the new Season of Death Awakening begins June 30. The season centers on ruptures spawned by dark rituals across Sanctuary: three rupture types send waves of Gravehound monsters and can summon the enormous Realmwalker boss.

Defeating the Realmwalker grants entry to the Deathtoll Chamber mini-dungeon, where lair keys for the season's Lair Boss Hoard can be found. Seasonal staples return — new enemies, new loot, a seasonal battle pass and a free pet — but there are notable changes to Mythics.

After PTR feedback, the planned removal of guaranteed Mythic stats was reversed: Mythics will now have two guaranteed bonuses while other properties roll randomly, and players can swap exactly one of those guaranteed bonuses. A free Warlock trial runs from June 30 to July 7 on all platforms, allowing players to sample the class up to level 25; progress carries over if the Lord of Hatred DLC is purchased.
