OtherSide Entertainment has canceled a game codenamed Argos and laid off 17 team members, effective at the end of May. A company spokesperson said, "After the cancellation of a game under development codenamed Argos, OtherSide Entertainment had to sadly say goodbye to 17 team members, effective end of May." The statement added that "in normal times" Argos could have been "a huge success," but the current games industry is "brutally challenging" and the project is "unviable for now." Some of those affected have announced they are looking for work, and the studio said it "cannot recommend these impacted people highly enough." Led by Warren Spector and Paul Neurath, OtherSide has struggled since its 2013 founding.

Its first release, Underworld Ascendant (2018), followed a 2015 Kickstarter that raised $860,000 and arrived in a "disastrously broken state," and the studio later stepped back from System Shock 3 after the license moved to Tencent.
