Detective Hacked in First Trailer for Cyberpunk Thriller Hot Spot

The first trailer for Hot Spot opens on a near-future society ruled by sentient A.I., where a private eye investigating a murder discovers a rebel group capable of undermining the digital overlord. As his identity slowly unravels, the film slides into what the studio calls a hypnotic meltdown. Andrzej Konopka and Noomi Rapace star, with Agnieszka Smoczyńska directing.

The footage leans heavily into cyberpunk imagery and has been compared to Blade Runner and Upgrade. It hints that the detective is hacked by a so-called "cyber witch," losing control of his own facilities and blurring the line between investigator and instrument of the technology he uses.

Smoczyńska, who wrote and directed the horror musical The Lure, collaborates here with writer Robert Bolesto and producers Klaudia Śmieja-Rostworowska and Bogna Szewczyk-Skupień. Hot Spot is scheduled for release on August 21, 2026, and the cast list includes Filippa Kaye, Maria George, Aurimas Cris Zen and Reika Kirishima.
