Destiny fans cry 'We Want Destiny 3' but Bungie made no announcement

State of Play passed without a Destiny 3 reveal, and fans spent the stream chanting "#WeWantDestiny3" in chat. Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier has said Bungie hasn't greenlit any game for the Destiny 2 team to pivot to once content updates end, though the studio is hearing pitches that may or may not take place in the Destiny universe.

Messages from Destiny 2 principal comms manager Dylan "dmg04" Gafner, including "Do not go gentle into that good night" and "Guardians make their own fate," helped stoke speculation. "Surely this harmless quote won't be taken out of context and turned into straight liquid hopium to the veins of every destiny fan who is currently holding out hope for a miracle," one X user responded.

Bungie does have projects listed as being in "incubation," but many incubated games never materialize, and typical development timelines mean any new release is likely years away unless it was created in secret.
