Destiny 2's final update: Monument of Triumph
After nine years, eight expansions and a mountain of updates—many good, plenty questionable—Destiny 2's final patch releases today. Monument of Triumph is the last big update before the studio walks away from the game; Destiny 2 will remain playable for the foreseeable future but there is no hint of a Destiny 3.
Bungie says it will begin work incubating its next games, though anything from that process is likely years from announcement or release. The Monument of Triumph update adds new features, weapons and buildcrafting options alongside numerous quality-of-life changes.
Highlights include a restored director, a simplified Portal, the Distortions modifier, the return of Sparrow Racing League, and the Pantheon raid gauntlet featuring bosses from vaulted raids.
