Dennis Quaid and ex-wife attend son's graduation amid child support filing

Dennis Quaid and his ex-wife Kimberly Buffington reunited at their son Thomas’ high school graduation in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Though the former couple sat separately during the ceremony, they posed together for photos with the 18-year-old graduate and his twin sister, Zoe.

Buffington, 54, wore a cream tank and skirt set, while the 72-year-old actor suited up and spoke from the stage. He attended the event with his wife, Laura Savoie, whom he married in 2020. The outing came one week after it was confirmed that Quaid filed to terminate his child support payments to Buffington for their children.

In May court documents, the Day After Tomorrow star noted that his 2018 divorce agreement specified payments would end when Thomas and Zoe finished their senior year; Zoe graduated on May 23. Quaid had previously sought to lower his child support payments in 2020, but the sum was later raised based on the reasonable needs of Thomas and Zoe.
