Deltarune Chapter 5 includes a song Toby Fox wrote 10 years ago

Deltarune Chapter 5 will release later this week, on June 24, and Toby Fox revealed he’s including a song he first wrote a decade ago. The snippet is a twinkly piano instrumental illustrated by Asgore's seven rainbow flowers, and Fox says it’s called 'The Sunset of 7 Suns.'

Fox posted, '10 years ago I made a song that sounded like this,' and added, 'This is the hope for Chapter 5 from 10 years ago.' He also recalled his mother telling him, 'you know, usually songs do more than just repeat…' and wrote, 'Sorry Mom. Anyway, the version in-game sounds very different. Don't be surprised.'

Fans have dug into the clip, with some noting a resemblance to 'Finale' from Undertale and others worrying the decade-old piece could mean Chapter 5 is especially significant. 'Toby drops "from 10 years ago" and everything else,' one fan said — but June 24 is arriving quickly, so try not to work yourself up with any more theories. We'll have our answers soon.
