Dean Cain was criticized after resharing a photo on X of Milly Alcock dressed as Supergirl with several ear piercings. A user wrote, “Wait … if Supergirl’s skin is bulletproof, how does she have ear piercings?” and Cain responded with a thinking face emoji.

The same user then posted an image of Cha-Ka from Land of the Lost, asking, “And why does she look like this guy?” Cain replied, “Dang it … I laughed.” Commenters called the remarks “you are shallow and cruel,” “unprofessional and disgusting,” and urged Cain—who is old enough to be her father—not to empower her bullies.

Cain portrayed Clark Kent on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, remaining with the series for four seasons from 1993 to 1997.

Alcock will portray Supergirl, Kara Zor-El, in the forthcoming film set for release on June 26 and worked alongside David Corenswet. Her other roles include young Rhaenyra Targaryen on House of the Dragon and Meg Adams on Upright.
