DC gender-swaps Mad Hatter in Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2
Batman: Caped Crusader, Prime Video’s animated series and a spiritual successor to Batman: The Animated Series, modernizes familiar faces in a film-noir Gotham. Hamish Linklater voices the Dark Knight in this reinvisioned world.
Season 1 introduced a genderbent Penguin, Oswalda Cobblepot, a cabaret singer on a yacht who secretly runs a vicious gang. New images of Season 2 show the Mad Hatter reimagined as Hattie, who hosts a show called “Hattie’s Tea Party,” keeping the villain’s Alice in Wonderland obsession while offering a fresh visual take.
The series adjusts details without upending the characters’ cores. Oswalda remains a ruthless crime boss, and this version of Harley Quinn is written as a villain on her own terms rather than simply a victim of the Joker.
Viewers can also expect new interpretations of the Joker, the Riddler, and the Scarecrow as the next season unfolds.
