Daveigh Chase's mother describes being 'devastated' after daughter's death

Daveigh Chase’s mother, Cathy Chase, spoke about her stunned reaction after learning of her daughter’s death at 35, saying, "I was devastated. It felt like something inside of me squeezing all of the air out of me, and at the same time, It felt like I was exploding outwardly." She recalled letting out a “guttural scream,” running outside and making “primeval sounds,” then screaming, "No, no, no, no!

I am in so much pain but I hope her soul heard me." Cathy said she had been searching online forums nightly and checking the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s list of unidentified bodies while trying to find her daughter.
