A final Instagram photo shared by Daveigh Chase in 2017 has resurfaced following her death. The black-and-white snapshot, posted November 19, 2017, shows her by a unicorn balloon on a sunny day; she wore a black sheer top, distressed jeans, sunglasses and a long necklace.

Chase captioned it, "Unicorns DO exist 😻." After news of her death, fans filled the post's comments with tributes and memories. Responses included messages such as "You deserved so much better," "RIP and thank you," and "Rest peacefully in Paradise 🤍🪽," while others posted images and GIFs from her film roles.

Chase rose to prominence as the voice of Lilo in Disney’s Lilo & Stitch (2002) and as Chihiro in the English version of Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away (2001). She also played Samara Morgan in the horror film The Ring (2002) and appeared in Donnie Darko (2001). Her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, said Chase died Tuesday at 35 after meningitis and a blood infection that led to sepsis.
