Dance of the Dragons continues in new House of the Dragon trailer
House of the Dragon season 3 is back. A new trailer released after the premiere follows the Battle of the Gullet and suggests the fighting will only become bloodier. Spoilers for episode 1 follow. The clash claimed Rhaenyra's oldest son and heir, Jacaerys Velaryon, and the trailer dwells on the fallout: Rhaenyra mourning her son and accusing her allies of betrayal.
We also get more of Ormund Hightower, who sounds openly hostile to Rhaenyra, along with flashes of further battles, dragonfire, and Rhaenyra inside the Red Keep. At the end of season 2, Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra struck a deal: Alicent would allow Rhaenyra to take King's Landing to end the war, though Aegon would have to die.
Now Aegon has fled with Larys Strong, a development that could complicate matters for a grieving Rhaenyra. The Battle of the Gullet diverged significantly from the book, including the absence of Rhaenyra's youngest sons, Aegon and Viserys. Their fates — and that of Joffrey Velaryon, the new heir who is also currently absent — remain to be seen.
