Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 teased ahead of June 29 reveal

The first look at Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 arrives on June 29. The sequel, announced in July 2025, will be a standalone 10-episode story set in the same world as Cyberpunk 2077 and features a new cast — mostly because of what happened to the old ones. Netflix’s initial description frames the series as “a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge,” asking what extremes people will go to make their story matter.

Studio Trigger returns to animate the series, with animation director Kai Ikarashi stepping up to director duties in place of studio founder Hiroyuki Imaishi. Writers Bartosz Sztybor and Masahiko Otsuka are back, and Ichigo Kanno takes over as lead character designer.

The first season played a role in revitalizing Cyberpunk 2077 by drawing players back to the game and boosting sales.
