Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 gets first full trailer
Netflix dropped the first major trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, a sci-fi series set to debut this fall. The footage is a sensory overload, offering a first look at the new four-character main cast in motion with plenty of explosions, murder and grainy VHS-style recordings.
Much of the trailer is presented as VHS recordings captured by Roman Carax, a young cinephile hooked on analog media whose quest to document Night City introduces him to the rest of the gang: D, a Snake Nation netrunner bent on revenge for the destruction of his clan; Talia Yang, an ex-corpo capable of notable acrobatics; and Weak “King” Kingsley, a veteran Edgerunner whose undulating eyes suggest cyberpsychosis.
King is shown brutally killing a number of men. The trailer’s theme, “You Can’t Run From Me,” was written by Maria Kelly and Drew Polovick and is performed by Rico Nasty. While specifics beyond random acts of extreme violence are hard to make out, the kinetic action suggests the season’s animation will be up to the task.
