Curry Barker has a 'such a cool idea' for Obsession 2 but isn't rushing it

Obsession continues to dominate the box office one month after its release, and director Curry Barker says he has an idea for a follow-up but doesn't want to rush into a direct sequel. "I don’t want to go straight into Obsession 2," he said. "I have such a cool idea for it that I won’t say.

I'm not saying it has to be five, six years from now. But I think people would be just as excited for it if it came a little down the road. It's a whirlwind, and I'm trying to figure it out." The film's story — a shy man named Bear uses a novelty wishing branch to make his crush Nikki love him, only for the wish to turn her into an obsessed succubus — leaves room to explore other users of the One Wish Willow.

Barker floated the idea of an anthology series, with each one-hour episode following a different wish gone completely off the rails; he suggested he might direct a pilot and invite other filmmakers to give their spins.
