Cult Classic Horror Thriller Flop Makes Comeback on Streaming
One of the most underrated horror movies of the 2000s is making a comeback on streaming. The 2006 adaptation of Silent Hill, directed by Christophe Gans, is now available on Sony Pictures Core, and its cult fandom has followed it to its new streaming home. Based on Team Silent and Konami's 1999 video game, the film is a loose adaptation.
Radha Mitchell stars as Rose, who wakes after an accident to find her daughter missing and must search the demented town of Silent Hill; the cast also includes Sean Bean, Jodelle Ferland, Laurie Holden, Alice Krige, Deborah Kara Unger, and Tanya Allen. After being added to Sony Pictures Core at the start of June, Silent Hill has been creeping up the streaming charts and is the 10th most popular movie on the platform this week.
Sony Pictures Core is currently heavy on emo and horror titles, with four Underworld films, Ghost Rider, and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter trending in the Top 10.
