Crunchyroll has added 12 mini-episodes of Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You to the platform ahead of the show's July premiere. Each short-form installment runs roughly 10 to 15 minutes and serves as a partial sneak peek into the series' noir-tinged, slice-of-life world.

The shorts introduce overworked salaryman Sasaki, whose routine visits to a local supermarket are disrupted when a mysterious woman, Tamaya, invites him to smoke behind the store where the bubbly service worker Yamada works. The adaptation, which began as a webcomic, leans into the monotonous reality of adulthood rather than adolescent romance, exploring how fleeting connections can become steadier when built on trust.
