CrossCode joins Infinite Alliance JRPG crossover

Infinite Alliance, an upcoming free turn-based crossover that brings together heroes and villains from JRPG-inspired games, has added CrossCode, Cosmic Star Heroine, and Seed of Nostalgia to its lineup. Earlier announcements had already included Chained Echoes and Kingdom of the Dump alongside other indie favorites.

The game offers nine playable characters, while heroes from the newly announced titles will appear as optional superboss battles. The announcement noted that, due to console monetization requirements, battles against Lea from CrossCode, Alyssa and Chahn from Cosmic Star Heroine, and Atilla from Seed of Nostalgia will require $1 optional purchases; every other aspect of the game will be free, and the proceeds from these purchases will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.

On PC, this content — and the entire game — will be completely free. Unlike most live-service collaborations, Infinite Alliance focuses on narrative, re-contextualizing familiar characters in a fan-servicey, story-driven adventure.
