Pearl Abyss has released patch 1.09 for Crimson Desert, adding controller remapping and the ability to adopt a variety of small animals as pets.

The studio previously introduced a Baby Wyvern, and this update adds approximately 30 species of small animals that can be registered as pets. The patch also added animations for picking up and putting down certain pets, increasing variety.

Remapping controls is included alongside the usual fixes and tweaks, such as a fix for an issue where bears would try to eat fish dropped on the ground but fail to do so.

Pearl Abyss has been updating the open-world game constantly since it launched in March. Two months after launch, 6.8% of Crimson Desert players on Steam had finished the open-world game, leaving 93.2% still playing.
