Corey Feldman was hospitalized after a mid-flight medical emergency on a flight from Chicago to Los Angeles that landed at LAX Monday afternoon. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the airport and transported a 54-year-old man to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

He began feeling sick on the plane and was checked by a fellow passenger who is a doctor. Medical staff believe he may be experiencing pancreatitis or gallstones. Pancreatitis is the inflammation of the pancreas, while gallstones are hardened deposits of digestive fluid that can accumulate in the gallbladder and cause sudden, intense pain if obstructive.

Feldman had been in Chicago to attend an anniversary event for Stand By Me, joining co-stars Jerry O'Connell and Wil Wheaton. Late Sunday he posted photos and videos to Instagram of the trip, including a stop at Michael Jackson’s childhood home in Gary, Indiana—an impromptu visit he said was to "pay respects" on the 10th anniversary of Jackson’s death.
