Control Resonant set to launch Sept. 24 on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X
Remedy Entertainment showed a new trailer for Control Resonant during Sony's State of Play, confirming the game will launch on PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X on Sept. 24. The footage opens with protagonist Dylan Faden waking in a plexiglass prison cell inside the Federal Bureau of Control.
Dylan’s dangerous abilities make him both a captive and the bureau’s best hope against a mysterious new resonance in Manhattan. An FBC agent tells him, "You're not FBC, you're not even fucking human," during a rainstorm. Actor Sean Durrie plays Dylan, and Remedy’s site describes him as being deployed after years in confinement to combat a cosmic entity while seeking out his sister, FBC Director Jesse Faden, as dangers spill beyond the Oldest House.
Creative director Mikael Kasurinen said the first Control focused on isolation inside the Oldest House; the sequel flips that by placing players in a distorted, trippy Manhattan. Enemies can alter reality, and Dylan can bend gravity to gain the advantage.
