This Computex showed how much Apple influences PC design and pricing
This year’s Computex felt a bit peculiar: there was as much AI as expected, but many products billed for gamers looked unusually non-gamer-y. One recurring theme at the show was how much Apple’s approach appears to be shaping wider PC design and positioning. The new laptops sporting Nvidia’s RTX Spark chip make the point plainly — they are very slim and sleek, very MacBook.
That look shows up in the MSI Prestige N16 Flip AI+, the new Microsoft Surface, and the initial RTX Spark machines from Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. The Arm-based nature of RTX Spark is another layer to the story, but that is more complicated.
