Chrome vs. Edge vs. Firefox: I tested each browser's AI — Latest news

I rely on AI for certain web tasks and tested the built‑in features in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox to see what they offer and which felt most satisfying. All three provide useful tools but they work in different ways: Chrome uses Gemini for searches and summaries, Edge uses Copilot to answer questions about sites, PDFs and open tabs, and Firefox gives access to several AI chatbots while adding more privacy controls.

Chrome’s Ask Gemini opens a right‑hand pane where you can analyze the current page, request summaries, or pose questions. Links clicked from the chat appear side‑by‑side with the AI window, saved prompts can be reused, and AI settings are managed under Settings > AI innovations.

Edge places Copilot on the new‑tab page and in a sidebar chat. It can summarize a single page or all open tabs, use Copilot Vision to “see” and discuss screen content, and automatically group tabs into topic-based clusters.
