Christopher Nolan returns with The Odyssey, his follow-up to 2023's Oppenheimer. He presents his take on Homer's Greek epic, which follows King Odysseus on a ten-year journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan War as he confronts the Cyclops, sirens and other sea monsters.

The cast is among the most star-studded of 2026, led by Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson and the duo of Tom Holland and Zendaya. Even positioned between other summer tentpoles like Moana (Jul. 10) and Spider-Man: Brand New Day (Jul. 31), Nolan’s epic is expected to be one of the biggest cinematic events of the year because of its scale and drama.

The Motion Picture Association has given The Odyssey an R rating, marking Nolan’s fourth R-rated film after Memento, Insomnia and Oppenheimer.
